As I sit in the silence, I hear You
Your voice doesn’t blare like a siren
Instead, it comes softly, gently
It floats down with the breeze
You speak in the rustling of the trees
You speak through the critters running on the ground
I hear you whisper tenderly,
“I love you Darling, my beautiful”
“I love You, too,” I whisper back into the breeze

As I tuck my hair behind my ear,
I take a deep breath in
I don’t just breathe in this fresh mountain air—
I breathe in You:

Y o u r words
Y o u r peace
Y o u r love
Y o u r joy

I close my eyes and listen to You
As I listen, I hear You sing a song
A song of love for me
A song of longing for me
I sway slowly back and forth,
Humming along with the song You’re singing to me
Not just to me,
But about me

The trees seem to dance along with Your beautiful melody
The birds chirp along to Your Heavenly song
All creation around me seems to sing with You
All creation is worshipping You

I smile as Your song grows—

G r o w s in lyrics
G r o w s in the tune
G r o w s in number

As all of creation seems to sing along with You

Soon the tune changes,
and the lyrics are no longer about me
They are about You,
and how worthy and beautiful You are
All creation
All of nature
Sings a song to You
I open my mouth and start to sing along

I j o i n all of creation
I j o i n the trees
I j o i n the creatures
I j o i n in this Heavenly song to You

Words come out of my mouth that I didn’t know existed
Heavenly words of praise to You, my Maker
Words that glorify and honor You

All of creation and I—singing one tune
All of creation and I—worshipping You
Expressing our love and gratitude to You
Telling You how HOLY and EXALTED You are
Singing a song full of adoration for You
Singing a song all to You

No practice needed
No thinking about the words
They all just flow out of my mouth to You—

W o r d s of life
W o r d s of thanks
W o r d s and phrases of heartfelt praise

To the Father
To You
To our God who is so, so good
The song grows louder and bolder in praise
My soul is fully worshipping You

Suddenly, it all goes silent
The song ends,
but I can still feel my soul singing the tune
I open my eyes and gaze around me
The trees are still swaying
The breeze blows back my hair
The creatures still roam around
But now it all looks different
Now it all feels different
We are all still singing
Praises to our Maker
We are singing a tune inside our hearts
Singing to the One and Only God

I take a deep breath and fill my lungs,
and I thank You for letting me sing that song
To experience all of creation praising Your Name
To worship with all of me and all of who I am
“Thank you, God, for this opportunity!
I love you, Lord”

With the song still in my heart and on my lips,
I close my eyes and rest—

R e s t in Your presence
R e s t in You
R e s t in the arms of my Father

My Maker
My Lord and Savior

“Let everything that has breath praise the Lord”
