My life is like a book
Sometimes I page far back and look
At the past hurts and past mistakes
But I also see pages of God’s grace
I see how He has carried me through—
Each hard chapter, each hard page

As I flip through the book of my life,
I see hard times and pain
I also see good times and laughter
I see lessons I’ve learned
Mistakes I’ve made
Heartaches I’ve faced
Laughter I’ve shared
Moments with friends I won’t forget
But what I mostly see on each page
Is God’s presence and His grace

The way
He held me through the darkest night
The way
He laughed with me through the good times
The way
He comforted me through the hard times
The way
He guided my steps

As I flip through the book of my life,
I realize just how good God is
He has been with me in every chapter and page
Writing each chapter
Writing each moment

Not just writing it though—
Also being with me
I smile and shed some tears
I thank God for all these chapters and years
Then I finally reach the end—
A bunch of blank pages toward the end of my book of life—
But, no not the end—
Just a brand new chapter God will be writing and I will be living

God is The Writer
He is The Author
He knows how my story will go
He knows and holds my book of life close

He can write your story as well
Will you give Him the pen?
Will you give Him the permission to write your story?

Page by page
Chapter by chapter
He will write
There will be hard times
Hard chapters
Hard pages to understand
But day by day,
Page by page,
You will begin to understand
That He truly has a great plan:
To love and to hold you
To redeem and restore you
To write your story the way it’s supposed to go
To be with you in the highs and lows

God is my Author and my Writer
Will you let Him be yours?
Will you let Him open the pages
Will you hand Him the pen?
The choice is yours

He would love to be with you
He would love to show you what good He has in store for you
Hand Him the book you’ve been trying to write—
That book of your life that you have been holding onto so tight

Let Him begin to write
All the good things He has planned for you
Let Him write your story
Let Him journey with you
Let Him into the pages of your life
Let Him take over the writing
Let Him hold your book of life close
He promises to never let go
Hand Him the pen

Let Him open your book
Let Him read what you wrote
Let Him transform your pages and chapters
Let Him change your life
Let Him change your story
